About the Institute
IEGS is a team of scientists and professionals, based on the ideas of the social sciences and humanities, focused on an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to the observation, research and explanation of phenomena in contemporary society.
IEGS is a team of scientists and professionals, based on the ideas of the social sciences and humanities, focused on an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to the observation, research and explanation of phenomena in contemporary society.
It starts from the semiotics of space. The starting point is the Republic of Croatia as a living space for citizens, where the social-political framework is perceived as the given geopolitical space in interaction with the EU and the world. IEGS is committed to Euro-Atlantic integration, NATO and the European Union in its mission and all its public actions. The defined goals and activities, ie the contents of the Institute’s activities, are in line with the social and political philosophy, economic and communication models, and in the function of the semiotics of space. The goal of the Institute’s work is a new social paradigm. Within this goal, experts will address a wide range of topics, from IT, artificial intelligence, robotics, energy policy, global climate changes, agricultural policy, sustainable development, security, circular economy and all aspects of globalization, articulating and validating the interdisciplinarity and trans-disciplinarity of the approach. The activities of IEGS are: scientific research, education, conferences, public forums, expert meetings, creation and elaboration of political platforms and proposing models of natural and social resources management.

Restructuring of the Institute
The Institute for European and Globalization Studies (IEGS) started with the process of restructuring In September 2020. The restructured Institute has a new identity, a new team, and upgraded activities to deal with challenges and topics of contemporary society.
The mission and the vision of the Institute
The formation of a new social paradigm for the Republic of Croatia is an attempt to establish a structure of long duration in a relation to Europe and the world. Croatia, as an inseparable part of the EU and the world, is also an actor of global social interaction and globalization as a process affecting the society in which we live. The political philosophy of the Institute is oriented towards the values of Western civilization, Euro-Atlantic integration, NATO and the European Union.
The contents of the new social paradigm for the Republic of Croatia are public policies in the field of IT, artificial intelligence, robotics, energy, agriculture, sustainable development, security, circular economy, social and economic aspects of globalization. Contents of all public politics will be additionally developed by scientific research and disseminated through educational programs and conferences.
IEGS, as an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary think tank, connects experts from the theoretical and practical spheres with the aim of jointly rethinking the new social paradigm determined by globalization and the EU, as a macro-regional union, and especially through the prism of Croatia as its component.
The emphasis is on shaping the new social paradigm of the Republic of Croatia for the 21st century within the global risk society, and the sociological, political, and economic challenges. Special emphasis is placed on the challenges of how to live, function and survive in this geopolitical space.
The new social paradigm is based on the idea of public policies (policy concept). The policy concept presupposes the formulation of public policies.
Proposals for new public policies will primarily stem from the conclusions reached by experts gathered at our 4 forums:
- Mediterranean Agricultural Forum (AGROMED)
- ICT Forum and Society (ICT FORUM)
- International Energy Forum (INTERENEF)
- Geopolitical Forum (GEOFOR)
New public policies will also be proposed for the areas of artificial intelligence, robotics, all aspects of sustainable energy and economic development, security, the circular economy and all social and economic aspects of globalization.
